Things I love: Coffee
With all the hate in the world I thought it would be nice to talk about something else: love. As in, something I love.
The truth is I love a lot of things, a lot of people and, for the most part, life in general. This time around, though, I’d like to focus on just one thing I love and one thing I’ve been in love with since my first trip to Denny’s for a late nite study session in college.
I’m talking, of course, about coffee.
Fortunately for those in search of a great cup of coffee it’s relatively easy to leave your home and find a good one near you. Lots of speciality coffee joints have sprung up as more people start to appreciate higher quality than what they can get at Starbucks.
Look, I’m not knocking Starbucks (much). I was a big fan for a long time. They and Coffee Bean used to get a lot of my money on the regular. My friends and I even used our local Starbucks (in Studio City, CA if your curious) as an “office” for many years.
That location had fast WiFi and they’d let you stay pretty much all day as long as you bought a drink. It was a good deal. And yeah, the coffee used to be pretty good too. Now, well, not so much.
But this is not a story about Starbucks, their slide downward in quality or their anti-union practices. It’s a story about love. My love of coffee.
